Since I was a player of poker for over a year, I can tell you that I really enjoy Texas Holdem poker. My college roommate, who was playing poker online, got me hooked. I became interested in the game and began playing. This was the moment I fell in love with the sport.
Then, I discovered many things. Poker isn’t a card game. Poker is a skill-based game. Luck is still an important factor. This is why you’ll see many people who win large amounts of money but lose all they have won. They don’t give up after one loss. They come back tomorrow to try again and hope for better luck. This is something I’ve seen too many times at poker tables. Poker players feel they need luck to win.
Apart from the intense demands of poker for skill, there are many other reasons I love poker. These are my top five reasons I love playing poker:
1. Poker is a profitable game. You are not playing against the casino online, which can often give them the edge. Instead, you play with real people and other players whose skills may match yours. Online poker was something I tried to get into and am still playing. However, it is a lot more fun to play in real casinos when possible to get a true sense of poker.
2. You get better at poker if you play more. Poker isn’t like other sports, where your age restricts your ability to play. Poker is not about your age. You can learn more skills by playing poker every day and so get better.
3. Poker is intellectually stimulating. Poker is a game that requires strategy and bluffing. You also need to be able to read the non-verbal language of your opponent. You must be able to see the signs your opponent is lying and know how to spot them.
4. Poker is a lot of fun. When I play poker, I speak a lot and have made some friends online.
5. Poker is fun and it’s fun! It’s pure fun. It’s thrilling to not know how your opponent plays, and then being able to bluff them without their realizing it. Poker is an entertainment room.
This is why I will continue to play poker in the future. As I don’t see poker popularity declining, no one can stop me.
